The Elements of Data Science course gives you the essential knowledge, vocabulary and skills for data management and communication. With video trainings, written lessons and hands-on exercises, you’ll gain a broad understanding of the tools and techniques used to work with data.
This module is intended to ensure you have the right background and interest in Data Science as a career option before committing to the entire year. It is the first module in a one year sequence of 3 modules.
Through hands-on instruction, you will have a strong start to your Data Science journey.

Learn about data types, structures and frameworks
Understanding how data is used and how to use data
Importing, cleaning and exporting tabular datasets
Working with messy or incomplete data sets
Gaining insights on data using tables and visualisation
Best practices and tools for data visualization and presentation, with ggplot2 and R Markdown
This module is suitable for people who want to understand if pursing a career in Data Science via Adaire Academy is right for them, having the fundamentals of working with structured data, have experienced .csv files, whether or not they have a background in technology. Prior experience with programming is not required – introducing this will be a part of the module.
